Mental Health Education for Children

An educational web TV and music series for use in Ontario classrooms and the home, produced by Sound of the Muse Records.

"Thought Detective" is one of the original songs and music videos which accompany the educational episodes. The songs, produced and performed at Sound of the Muse Records by Timothy Trieste and Shann Bailey, were composed by Trieste with Ottawa child psychologist Dr. Laura Armstrong.

Sound of the Muse Records, (Timothy Trieste) Mission To Vision Non Profit Consulting ( Timothy Feher) in partnership with child psychologist Dr. Laura Armstrong and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada are mid way through an educational research project and video education series designed to be facilitated in the classroom or the home with children and youth (in 3 age groups 6-9 / 10-12 and 13-15.)

The educational objective of the project is to enhance resiliency in children by providing them with the literacy and the skills to be aware of the many feelings which confront us throughout our lives.

Many of these feelings, especially the strong ones, are the result of thoughts and experiences which need to be examined and questioned if they are affecting us adversely. Reflections On Children's Mental Health holds a mirror up to these thoughts and feelings, and through honest conversation and engaging songs offers appropriate behaviours and actions to help children and youth manage their mental health.

Extraordinary Times For Children

These are extraordinary times of civil conflict, negative global environmental changes, excessive media exposure, and threatening health pandemics. It is increasingly difficult to protect young people from the stressors of daily life.

Episode 3 features strategies to manage fear and worry, and features the song for 6-9 year olds entitled "Worry Shark."
